Fulfillment through micro-focus

Fulfillment through micro-focus
Ever heard the quote: “Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things”?

We believe no truer words have been spoken, and that there’s magic in the micro – the little moments, actions, decisions and rituals that can make life extra fulfilling.

Below, we share a handful of thoughtful reminders of how to focus on the little things that make a big impact.

Set Small, Realistic Goals For Yourself

Enjoy some quiet time with your journal, and jot down a list of what truly matters to you in life. For example, your family, friends, health, spirituality etc. Next, split out each one with three micro goals that will improve that particular area of your life. The point is to set achievable, actionable steps that make easy work of feeling more fulfilled in that particular area of your life. Take your health for example, your three goals could be 1. Drink one glass of water every hour you’re awake. 2. Drink a green smoothies for breakfast. 3. Go for a 20-minute walk every day. Revisit these micro goals every month and set new ones if and where you can.

Choose An Affirmation

Start each day on a high note by setting an intention or choosing a positive affirmation to guide you through your day. We love including affirmations into our morning routine by habit stacking them with brushing our teeth. Stand in the mirror after you’ve brushed your teeth and repeat your affirmation. A simple one could be: “I am calm, I am courageous, I am joyful, I am at peace” to set the tone for how you feel and how you will show up in your day.

Engage In Daily Rituals

Self care comes in many forms, and we wholeheartedly embrace little moments of “me time” throughout the day to contribute to our overall wellbeing. Our daily rituals is full of ideas to help you reflect, reconnect and unwind, but some of our top picks include:

  • Engaging a mindfulness activity as we drink our lemon water in the morning
  • Drenching our body in moisture with our favourite Embodyme Nurturing Body Oil with self massage
  • Taking a moment to stretch and practice deep breathing during a midday break
  • Soaking in the bath after a long day
  • Jotting down three things we’re grateful for at the end of each day in our journal
  • Eating dinner at the table with a loved one
  • Going for a 10-minute walk around the block after dinner to destress

There are endless possibilities for ritualising activities in your day. Choose 1 or 2 to incorporate each day and see what feels good for you.

Live Consciously tip: Set the intention to spend 5 minutes on yourself today and write down 5 little things that light you up.

We hope these tips will help you to create your own Daily Rituals for self care. 💫 Need more inspiration? Follow @embodyme_daily or sign up The Weekly for more on curating precious moments for you each week.
