Our people: Jess Blair's Daily Rituals

Our people: Jess Blair's Daily Rituals
In our fast-paced world of modern multitasking, women often find themselves wearing multiple hats. While this juggling act can be challenging, our daily rituals can help to ground us and set us up for success.

Meet Jess, a clinical nutritionist, naturopath, author and mother passionate about healthy living with infectious energy in abundance. Let's explore her daily rituals and cherished self care practices.

Morning Ritual: Daily movement

What's the first thing you do in the morning to set a positive tone for the day?

I love to exercise in the morning it’s the best start to my day, but like everyone I am finding this side of the year so busy that I am sometimes skipping that! On a perfect day, that’s how I would love to start every day. Also, a big glass of water to hydrate before I caffeinate is key.

Daily practice: A Sunday ritual

Could you share a daily practice or routine that keeps you inspired and motivated?

I think for me the biggest saviour has been organising my week on a Sunday afternoon. This helps me to be organised for the week ahead. What keeps me inspired and motivated is being around people that are like-minded, and to have specific goals I want to achieve.

Golden rules for nutrition:

Eating for Energy is one of Embodyme's key principles of self care. As a naturopath and nutritionist, do you have a golden rule you'd like to share that supports this principle of self care?

Self care looks different for everyone, and I think that making sure your spiritual, emotional and physical, mental and financial well-being are getting looked after is key. Adding a beautiful ritual like Embodyme's Nurturing Body Oil after a shower or a bath can really help with your spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing.

We tend to be so focused on our physical wellbeing that we often forget about other important parts of wellness. So my advice would be to think about all the elements of wellness and work on the ones that are not as full as the others.

Her favourite Embodyme Nurturing Body Oil: Joy & Peace

My favourite is Joy, but I think Peace is a close second. With everything going on in today's world, I think we could all use some Peace.

Her words of wisdom: small changes for big results

What's a piece of advice or words of wisdom you might like to share in relation to self care or finding time for yourself?

My wellness book is called "Small Changes For Big Results", and I live by that mantra - we should be adding to our lives rather than subtracting.

I like to think of it as finding more of the great things rather than focusing on what to take away - for example, add more vegetables and more movement into your day,  rather than focusing on taking away that chocolate that you love.
