3 simple ways to find calm when life gets busy
Do you ever feel like you're trapped in a never-ending cycle of responsibilities and appointments? From juggling work, family, and maintaining a social life, it's easy to get overwhelmed.

We all know that when we're not operating at our best, everything becomes more challenging. So, how can we effectively manage stress when time is scarce? Here are three straightforward ways to reduce stress when life gets busy.

Take a Deep Breath: Implementing a simple breathing exercise is one of the most accessible ways to decompress and have a profound impact on your well-being. Here's a box breathing technique:

  • Inhale through your nostrils for a count of 4 seconds
  • Hold for 4 seconds
  • Slowly exhale for 4 seconds
  • Hold again for 4 seconds

Even a few rounds of this exercise can be beneficial. If you have more time, consider repeating it for five minutes.

Create a Stress-Free Zone: Designate a specific area in your home or workspace as a stress-free zone. It could be a cozy corner with a comfortable chair and no distractions. Whenever you feel overwhelmed, take a break and spend a few moments in this space. It can serve as a sanctuary where you can regroup and regain your composure, even when you can't venture outdoors.

Get a Breath of Fresh Air: Spending time outdoors often goes unnoticed as a stress-relief method. It not only helps calm your mind but also rejuvenates your energy. Our tip: Try taking your next phone call or meeting outside while going for a walk.

YOUR REMINDER -

In the moment when you find yourself seeking calm to combat feelings of overwhelm, give yourself grace. You're doing your best, and you have the innate qualities to bring yourself back to calm. Try a few drops of Kindness massaged into the skin to honour yourself.
